BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Edmonds School District Windows and Mirrors Award. This award is chosen by a committee of Edmonds School District Educators to celebrate books that include a diversity of characters, families, and life experiences. 
  • Evergreen Book Award. The Evergreen Teen Book Award is chosen annually by Washington State students in 7th through 12th grades from a list generated by teen librarians.
  • 2020-2021 ProjectLit selections. ProjectLit is a grassroots literacy movement empowering readers and leaders in hundreds of schools & communities across the country (including AMS). There is a list for middle grade readers and a list for YA readers. Here are the selections.
  • National Book Award for Young People's Literature: Chosen by book publishers, the National Book Award is awarded for the best in middle and young adult literature.
  • Sasquatch Award: WA state kids' choice award for 4th to 6th grades.
  • Young Reader's Choice Award: Pacific Northwest regional kids' choice award; Junior Division titles for 4th to 6th grades.
